What is Solder Reclaim?

Reclamation refers to the process of recycling waste solder and dross, a by-product of soldering operations, into usable material. This process is essential for companies looking to minimize waste, comply with environmental regulations, and recover value from spent materials. AIM’s program emphasizes ease of use and compliance with federal and state environmental standards, showcasing a practical approach to corporate sustainability.

  • Materials accepted for recycling include:
    • Pot metal
    • Dross/skimmings
    • Solder paste
    • Circuit boards
    • Anodes and anode scrap
    • Wipes
    • Other tin-bearing material
    • Other metals

The Benefits of Recycling Spent Solder

Recycling solder materials and solder dross through AIM’s reclamation services not only supports environmental sustainability by reducing hazardous waste but also offers significant cost savings for businesses. By recovering valuable metals from dross, companies can reinvest in their production processes.

With AIM Solder’s Reclaim Program, customers receive free reclamation buckets, shipping labels, and guidance, facilitating the return of dross and other materials. The service is designed to be straightforward, ensuring ease of use while promoting environmental sustainability. Metals are recycled on-site, offering credits based on current market prices, weight, and alloy analysis.
